Can I feed Viva to my puppy or kitten?
Yes, you can feed Viva to your puppy or kitten once they’re weaned from their mother, typically around 8 weeks of age!
For puppies, we recommend our Turkey & Beef Recipe, which is specifically formulated for the growth stage, including that of large breed dogs. This recipe is ideal until they reach about a year of age, after which they can transition to our balanced adult formulas.
For kittens, any of our 5 cat recipes are suitable since they’re designed for ‘all life stages.’ While kittens share the same vitamin and fatty acid needs as adult cats, they do require higher levels of protein, minerals, and amino acids to support their growth. By simply feeding them more during their growth phase, you can easily meet these needs, which is why we don’t offer a separate kitten formula!
To ensure proper nutrition, the feeding calculator determines the ideal daily serving size based on your pet’s target adult weight, helping you provide the right amount of food during these key growth stages.
To stay on top of feeding adjustments, we recommend updating your pet’s weight in their profile monthly for the first 6 months. After that, update it every other month until they’re about a year old, as their growth slows and their feeding needs shift to a maintenance level for adulthood.
